I just got some new acorns, too. Hurray! @catmind20906! Thank You!

I'm going to spend this winter uploading pictures to the database so I can enter their wonderful contests! I know critterologist won some semps last year and it looks like catmint won a bunch of acorns! Hurray!

Yes, that's a great idea! Anyone can write and submit articles/ideas here, and I'm sure people would be interested in gardening for health and nutrition! Thumbs up I know Kyla and Rita have both had articles appear recently--and Holly won the caladium bulb contest! Hurray! And SSG, I'm looking forward to seeing your photos--and comments!-- in the database! Thumbs up

Where is everyone. I have been really busy because my one girl is on vacation in of all places Africa. I am not having her come back until after the first of the year since she had to go on safari. My God, some people have strange priorities. When I was her age I wanted to do that too, but then there was no ebola to deal with. There must have been some other disease since there usually is in those countries, but this time her doctor even said she should go since there were no cases in South Africa. Now when she comes home she will see there is a case in Dallas. You just can't win. Anyhow, where is everyone? I am missing reading all the good stuff even if I do not have time to answer.

Oh my, I think I just broke the rules. No discussion about current events and I mentioned one. Sorry. It was truly not meant for discussion. Really sorry everyone. *Blush*

Is that a rule? Shrug!

I'm not about to discuss it. I get enough of those conversations elseweb.

Hi! I'm here! Just sometimes feel like I'm talking to myself and Catmint in this room.

Thanks Rita....I am glad since I was merely making a statement of why I have been among the missing on many of the threads. I am so tired and this weather is not my favorite. I hate gloomy days.

Oh, and Rita, when I said sometimes I feel I'm just talking to Catmint, I didn't mean to slight you! But she is usually the chatty one. Not lately, though. I think everyone must be busy with back to school and suchlike.

JB I think it's awesome your daughter is visiting Africa! How exciting that must be for her. And please don't worry! If she's in South Africa I think there really is very little worry.

hi, y'all! I'm here! Yeah, super busy at work and tired in the evening. Have also been feeling a bit down due to stuff going on at work (out of my control, not about me, but dragging me down anyway).

PS--I think it is okay to discuss current events that impact on us! Just need to be careful about statements about politics and religion since these are notoriously divisive topics and we want to stay focused on (a) our common love of plants and nature; and (b) supporting one another through events that impact us.

Well, for what it's worth, I have observed a whole lot of people being on edge and agitated and more prone to fly off their handle than usual.

Not me of course.

Whistling Hilarious!

There's no rule about that. Actually, ATP has very few actual rules.

We do want to try to keep the site all things plants. Some other sites just go way off topic and we want to keep ATP mostly devoted to gardening and plant talk. Smiling

Now I see how you thought my daughter was in Africa. I said MY ONE GIRL...and you all assumed it was my daughter. No, I have two girls who work for me and the one girl is now in Africa visiting her family. She has not been home to see them for 15 years and she made these plans months ago. She and her daughter went and they are in South Africa.
I thought I was going crazy when some of you were telling me you thought it was nice my daughter was in Africa. Confused Confused At my age it you can get confused without trying and boy this morning you all had me going for a while until I found the post that said MY ONE GIRL....sorry, next time I will be more careful how I word things. I can see how you came to the conclusion and that is what happens when you think faster than you type. At least I am still thinking. Now that is settled ........wow, am I glad.
