Okay, here is my plant database question and I can't see an answer on my own.
Is there a box to check to indicate that a plant has been classed as invasive (in some states)? Also is there a box to check for plants which tend to be 'aggressive'.

Not for example, a dandelion which would be considered by some to be a salad ingredient and by others to be a noxious weed; I mean for plants that gardeners in some areas may need to be 'warned' about if they choose to grow them they could upset the local ecosystem, clog waterways, shade out/crowd out native plants, etc.

I understand we can add this type of thing in the comment section; just wondering if I was missing a check box when I am looking.

I think, I have seen this topic discussed before, and I think it was just to problematic to be included in the database other than as a comment item.

Jay's right, we did conclude at the time that using the comments field to indicate its invasiveness for your area is the most helpful thing you can do for future visitors to that entry.

Thanks. I read the thread and it seems sort of...not finished.

For now I guess the comments section is the place to put this information, but so many people don't read comments they may go ahead and plant something and miss the warning.

Since that thread started, I have found that I check the comments section more, but.... I do like the idea of having a "note" that might suggest that there could be/possibility may exist that it could be invasive, and to check with your regional USDA website.

"May be invasive" I think might be a better checkbox than simply "Invasive".

The comments area might be a good place to say "Not invasive in my area" and why, but I think the potential seriousness warrants a checkbox spotlight. I think it is certainly more important than many other attributes that DO have checkboxes.
