HI everyone,

I already posted elsewhere a picture of the two cats who were here when I moved in with my cousin, but I'll post it here too. It's a great shot of Lily (calm Zen cat of mystery on the viewer's left) and Nab (feline flirt extraordinaire on the viewer's right.)

Thumb of 2014-08-10/kylaluaz/23a584

I've just borrowed my cousin's camera and she agreed to download the pics to her computer and email them to me. Photo of my beloved CroneCat, Kaly, to come shortly (when I get them.)

I'll also have a few garden shots to share from the same batch.

Nice to meet everyone!

Oh yeah.

Okay, here's my Kaly girl. She is 14 and lookin' great!

Thumb of 2014-08-10/kylaluaz/d59aea

She stays in the house. I have always had indoor cats; here, my cousin likes to let hers in and out -- and I tried introducing Kaly to the back yard. She has tentatively checked out the threshhold and the porch, but Nab has pretty much chosen to burst on the scene right as she starts feeling relaxed so that ended that for now at least!

And this is Lily in her favorite spot, under a chair.

Another lovely summer day and today we took our usual afternoon exercise walk. Walked for 2 1/2 miles. Lily really enjoys those walks. Plus she has so much energy that she really needs those walks. She usually naps after we get home and is napping right now.

I wish I could walk like I used to. I feel so much better when I do, but my hips and back just would not let that happen. Yesterday I walked at the Horse Show more than I usually do and I am really stiff today, also, rains are coming so that is a factor.. Mr. Arthritis tells me when the weather changes. Shrug!

Charle did not have a walk today yet and I doubt he will unless my back eases up. He will just have to playball inside. He runs in and out and around his yard during the day when I work outside or if I am in the greenhouse, so it is not like he sleeps all day. He also runs in and out at night and plays with the barncat, Lucky during the night. The bad part about that is he wakes me to tell me he is back in bed. Like a kiss on the ear....I really hate this dog at times. Rolling on the floor laughing Lovey dubby

I agree
JB, sorry to hear about the stiffness today. Hope you had a chance to rest up and are feeling better now.

Rita, glad you and Lily were able to get a nice walk in! Smiling

Lily got canned dog food this morning. I never feed her canned but it was her birthday treat. Then later she will be having some of her beef jerky treats for dogs to chew.

Canned food would be a treat for my cats as well! Usually it's just kibble.

I feed Lily Kibble, which I usually soak, for breakfast. Then the evening meal is Honest Kitchen which is a powdered food that you add water to re-hydrate it. She gets a Bully stick everyday to chew. And lots of toys. Plus she usually begs some small pieces of people food that I am eating. She loves buttered toast and any kind of muffins or biscuits.

For training which is based on rewards, I might use tiny pieces of chicken or beef jerky or cheese. Also use soaked kibbles as I can't over feed her. She is in good weight, lean and trim with lots of muscle from all the exercise.

It's interesting how our pets show preferences for certain foods that we eat. It's so cute that Lily likes muffins, biscuits, and buttered toast! Smiling One of my cats is a yogurt fiend. Whenever she sees me eating a yogurt she will sit and wait patiently for me to let her lick out the container when I'm done. Hilarious!

Silly Kitty! Haven't ever given Lily Yogurt, not sure if she would like it or not. Any kinds of muffins or biscuits Lily just goes nuts for.

Charle loves carrots, broccoli, peas, string beans, blueberries, bananas and Lovey dubby some melons....he will eat almost anything so I must be careful not to allow the wrong things. He also like corn on the cob. Not much, but he seems to enjoy a few good bits when I am finished with the ear. The butter and corn taste is good. His daily treat at noon is three little carrots cut up. He loves that. Of course he also likes muffins, bagels, and ice cream. Did I forget anything? I told you he eats almost everything. The one thing he refuses to even keep in his mouth is celery. I wonder why? He gets everything the birds get table food wise, since when I feed, he is right there waiting. I love this dog
