Home Depot had purple leaf dahalia yellow peony flower. ( No Name)They are not tall, I am wondering if these small/short type of dahalias are bulbs or would I collect seeds to grow them next year.

It is so pretty I want to grow it next year. Buying it late in the season in my climate I will only be able to keep it outside probably only until late Sept early Oct. If it is a bulb I will bring in the pots like I do my other dahalias and keep it cool in the basement.

I do not store bulbs. I like to store plants/bulbs in their pots and set them out early Spring. I do not want to dig bulbs and replant.

Yes, they are bulbs (tubers). Sometimes they are quite small and difficult to store over Winter.

However, if you are bringing them in pot and all, you should have no problem.

Thank you. It is the only way I have been able to keep all my tropicals alive. I found if I bring everything in without disturbing them and keep them in 40-60 degrees sprinkle a little water on top of the soil once a month or so everything survives and start to grow in the Spring.

Looks fine. Good size plant so tuber should be ok.

Maybe dead head it.
