Well, that's interesting. I've never had that on my bush. Smiling

This is the first time I've seen two distinct stamens.

I've got 2 stems, each with 3 buds on 1 stem! Rest of the plant is one bud per stem. Can't wait till they open!

That's really neat! Can't wait to see if the flowers are normal.

I had some twinnage last summer. I hope you don't mind me sharing so late in the game.

My twins were on the Kopper Kings that flank my front walkway. Here are some pics of the blooms and the buds.

The first time around, I didn't notice the flowers. The second time, I did!

I noticed none of these freak poss ever produce seed, the pods rarely develop after a day or two.

Has anyone ever had a flower like this? It's not a twin, more like underdeveloped. I called it the butterfly flower, but one of my friends called it "the bowtie." Smiling

The last pic is what it SHOULD have looked like: a Luna Pink Swirl flower.

Wow! How cool is that? I've never seen that before! Did you by any chance get seeds from that mutation?

I didn't because I'm such a strict live-header (I pluck off the days flowers the same evening...so they're not all mushy like with dead-heading).
