It is almost time to call it a day again. I have had some really funny messages on eBay today. Must be full moon, I swear. Sometimes I just can not believe what I read....but I take a deep breath and answer so sweetly. Oh My God.

It was a beautiful day and I must take Charle for a walk. See you later to say Goodnight.

Have a great night JB, and here's to hoping I can actually "catch" you here at some point! nodding
That Mr. Shaky sounds great, maybe we should get one for work. We plan to sell Christmas trees this year, as usual, and I bet Bossman would have a LOT of fun with that thing! (hope we don't find any mouses!!) Blinking

The "front" area at work is looking fabulous!! Can't believe the big difference just changing out a few tables can make!
Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/f2e7ca Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/90f61e Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/0793f3

This is how it looked "before", back in May. Those 3-tier round tables were old and falling apart and had to go. Not to mention, the whole thing had a very "hard" look.

Now... here's what greeted me when I pulled into the parking lot this morning...

Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/7f2607 Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/d903dc Thumb of 2014-08-08/speediebean/98e39c

The defining lines have been softened with plants instead, a much .. well, "softer" look. This won't last, however, 'cause for next Spring, that whole area is gonna get brick-paved, with "planter" (dirt) areas around the perimeter, planted with trees! :)

Anyway, a fun day at work, yesterday and today... and looking forward to another one tomorrow!

Morning ...almost noon and I have not started to be productive yet. Spend to much time on ATP trying to learn new things.

Anyhow, here I am and Speedie, I love the new displays. Great work. I am sure you will see the reaction of your customers to be very positive.

I have planting to do in the GH and it is in the 90s in there already. I am so annoyed with the GH this year. More frustrated than anything. I put as much of my stock outside as I possibly can because I am afraid it will fry in there this year. See you later....I may take a lunch break and if I do I will pop in. Have a great day and get out there an garden.............. Hurray! Rolling on the floor laughing Thumbs up

That sounds very useful to have some place to grow the babies. I'm afraid I don't do well with seedlings. The ones in my house get nibbled to death by the cats, and the ones outside seem to need just the right circumstances to germinate properly. Sad

I can not grow plants from seeds. Never could and just this year we have a thread where several of us took seeds from my three sweetshrubs and we all planted them .....we keep in touch and I am going to save the information in the event someone wants to know our methods. Those seeds are tricky and we had a heck of a time. It was fun and now I need to transplant the few that actually are growing for me. I need to go check it out. It is in the Seed forum of ATP.....as for other seeds, I have tried over and over to grow herbs( grew some of them but did not know what to do with them after I grew them), and annuals. No luck with flowers at all. I always over water them. I even purchased one of those self water seed starters and my seeds still died. Not a good thing.

One thing that grew really well for me from seed this year was Cosmos. Also got some nice Anthemis tinctoria, Dill, Celosia, Borage, Phaseolus vulgaris, Pot Marigold, Sunflower 'Lemon Queen', and Medicago sativa going. Some wildflowers and Hollyhock grew, also some R. hirta, Heliopsis, Tagetes patula, and some Alyssum. Aside from that, most of my sowing was a bust. Sad I know it looks like a nice-sized list, but in comparison to all I sowed, it seems like a small yield.

Some of the ones I had success with I'll grow again next year!

I grew all the ones I listed above from seed, sowing directly into the garden. I thinned the seedlings as they came up, as there were way too many of the ones that did well. I sowed a lot more seeds than what actually grew for me. Several plants sprouted tiny seedlings which then never grew any further. Many others never germinated at all.

Oh, another one that has grown for me is Echinacea purpurea (straight species). Still no blooms though.

The majority of the plants in my garden are not the result of seed-sowing on my part.

Which Alyssum did you sow Cat? I've got some Sweet Alyssum "Carpet of Snow" out front that I started from seed a couple years ago, and now it has self-sown and keeps coming back, I LOVE it! Funny.. I just sprinkled the seeds on top of the mulch and watered them in... then I think I watered them one more time about a week later, and in a couple-o'-few weeks the entire are was COVERED with fragrant white little blooms, it was lovely! That stuff is sooo super easy to grow!!

I am out of here for today. Tomorrow morning early we are headed to see my little buddy Grace show Tony the Pony at a Horse Show....hopefully she places...she is just beginning to show and tomorrow she is in a class where the instructor will not be holding on to the pony. We will see. My daughter began showing when she was 5, so she made sure her neice (Grace) was up and ready by the time she was 6. We love horses as you must know by now. Here is how Grace looks in her show garb. Click on the pic so it makes it bigger and you can see her cute little face. She is such a sweet kid too. That helps. I am not kid friendly usually. Speedie, it was 'Carpet of Snow'! Smiling I tried starting several other varieties of alyssum, but this is the only one that grew for me past seedling stage. Glare

What a cutie, JB! The show garb makes her look very grown up! Smiling Hope she does well tomorrow!

I am up and a bit droopy. Charle, the dog, decided he and the barncat, Lucky would play about 3 a.m. out in the moonlight....they are so bad together and with the fence between them i do not worry unless Lucky decides to come up on the deck, then I have a problem. About 3:30 A.M. he came to bed really wired and now of course, I am up, getting ready to leave having my coffee and he is asleep. Dogs. GRRRRR.
Of I go and I will check in later when we get back from the show. She only has 3 classes and they are all this morning, so I will be home for lunch to prepare my plant orders for shipping tomorrow.
