Well, my PT was not very encouraging. He says I need to go back to the doc to get a second look at the ankle, since it's not healing very quickly. So, appointment set now for Sept 3. In the meantime, use ice, elevate, and don't overdo it. Thumbs down

Oh Catmint, So sorry to hear that the ankle isn't healing quickly for you. I hope it isn't a serious issue. So things are moving along here pretty slowly. Ric's Father and nephew are visiting from Fl. for 2 weeks. They arrived right after we finished the floor and got everything out of the bedroom that they will use while they are here. New furniture arrived it is soft and pretty comfy but it's a lot bigger than I realized. I haven't been able to get outside and do much, and I don't expect too till they are gone. This is the first time for many years that they have come up. Today was picture day at Hidden Valley BoyScout Camp. There have been 4 generations that have gone to that camp. Poppy, Ric, Jamie & JR. So we went there and took a 4 generation picture. It was I have lost my photo program on the laptop and the house computer is running so slow that it would take me forever to post a few pics. So I don't expect to post any pics for quite some time.

hey, @Kylaluaz, hope your headache is better today!

@JB, how are those aches and pains??

Anyway, I hope this weekend finds people well enough to enjoy their gardens. Here, it is overcast, sprinkly, and very humid. Unfortunately, my compost pile is going to have to wait until my ankle is better!! Sad I hope to get out later just to see if there are any new blooms.

It's been raining lightly all day. I hope to get out there for a 1/2 hour or so and pull some of the larger weeds growing between the nandina hedge. It's an area that has been pretty neglected and this rain is just the perfect time to weed out there.

Sounds like a good plan, Holly! I made it out briefly too to get some photos of new blooms. It's been raining lightly on and off here, too.

I did notice some weeds but left them intact for another day. Whistling

I did get my hedge weeded. Took a whole wheelbarrow load of weeds out of there. More weeds that bushes. Sure looks great now.

Yes, It sure does look good now. I have a row of about 10 small nandina bushes growing along the outside of Alfies yard fence. I weeded it earlier this summer and then just ignored it. The weeds had pretty much filled in the spaces between. They will look even better after I get them mulched. You can check them out when you come.

Looking forward to seeing it!

I often think that what I need is an attractive ground cover that will nicely fill in the spaces between my plants, and render weeding completely unnecessary. Big Grin

Catmint, I'm going to accomplish this with 'Black Scallop' bugleweed! Since the plant is almost black, it will hopefully look even better than black mulch.

I'm looking forward to the photos, Typ! :-)

I've been thinking of using chamomile for this purpose--fragrant and luscious.

Green Grin!

My headache, dare I say it, is not mine anymore but hath flown. May it stay gone! If I disappear for a while again though, it's either that, or my computer weirdness, or both. Computer needs a new powercord, I have determined. One will be ordered shortly. Meanwhile, if I don't move it, it stays connected. (The battery doesn't hold much of a charge either so unplugging means shutting down fairly quickly.)

Sounds like a wonderful, fun, and memorable day, Holly! Smiling Thumbs up Bet that pool was fun with all the grandies in it! Hope you got lots of pics!

For us, it was the beginning of the return to our 'normal' fall schedule, with a drive up to Gaithersburg for DD's first volleyball afternoon of the season. Soon I will return to my school-year role as chauffeur. Sticking tongue out (sigh) well, it's been a lovely break this summer!
