Well, I could always get some new ones, lol, but that would take too long, and cost too much. Guess I'll keep these. Split 2 trailer loads and have them stacked. I'm going to sleep well tonight! Rolling on the floor laughing

I still haven't potted any iris, I was thinking I could do that today, but another load of fire wood came last night, and I'm getting another load tonight, so I guess I'm going to be cutting and splitting wood again today.

How many more loads would you need for Winter?

Might be a good idea to give your wood-splitting muscles a break and pot the Irises. Shrug!

I'll help my son again this weekend with some splitting, I'm sure, but almost all that we burn at our place is cut up blocking....no splitting needed, and all the cutting to length is done with the chop saw, in the shop, in the shade, with a fan overhead to keep the sawdust out of my face! I'm spoiled Sticking tongue out ......Arlyn

It's 42 degrees here this morning. I'm not liking things getting that cold in August. It's way too close to freezing to suit me. I'm hoping to have a few tomatoes to can from all these plants. Nice working weather though.

I agree Tom. Nice working weather and I am enjoying it when I can. You never know what tomorrow will bring. Thinking I need more firewood for the winter maybe.

We are going to hit 98 today. Normal for us, but they are toning down the heat forecast for next week, which is a relief.

We have 4 days of rain in the forcast. We really need it, so most likely it will pass us by.

Well I remember when I was a kid. It's that funny wet stuff that fell from the sky. But now to get it you have to dance for it. Rolling on the floor laughing They changed the forcast now.. rain tomorrow, then none for two days, then rain for two days. Best chance is 50% I'm thinking. This morning they had a 70% chance for rain, but not any more.

One note on garden soil vs. potting soil.. You can't be sure what soil pathogens you have in your soil. You wouldn't want to be giving someone else something they might not have in their soil already.

I just got a box of iris. Well, not a big box. Last year I had ordered Chocolate Halo, and got something different. I just got 2 Chocolate Halo, and another one called Dark Icon as an extra, a new Kerr Introduction. It's really a nice one. That was really nice of them, I'd order from them again for sure. It's pictured on the page of this link.
