Hyde Park - A Royal Park (Part 1)

By NEILMUIR1
April 12, 2011

Hyde Park is the largest green space in central London at just over 350 acres. It is now famous for the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain, and other things associated with Princess Diana. However its history is immense as it is known to go back before the Norman invasion in 1066. King Henry VIII then got the land off the canons of Westminster Abbey in 1536 and kept it as a deer park and hunting ground for himself. King Charles I in 1637 finally opened it to the public. It also hosted the Great Exhibition in 1851 in the infamous Crystal Palace. This was then moved to Sydenham Hill in southeast London; and the area became known as Crystal Palace. The Crystal Palace burnt down on November 30th, 1936 Please come with me on a walk around one of London's Great Royal Parks.

I can only see it thru your eyes and it is beautiful, indeed. Thank you for letting me see your beautiful England
I loved the beautiful plants that were there by the pond. Loved all the colors of the maples too. The Madarin ducks were breathe taing.
Thank you Dear Neil; for letting us tag along on your walk.

Dear Jamie, thank you for your comments! It does take a bit of work to do an Article like that as; Hyde Park is 350 acres, then Kensington gardens is 275 acres, plus a bit of Green Park which is another Royal Park. Armed with the camera and a lot of lenses, it does take a lot of walking! The wide angle lens does come into its own on a Park that size!
The Summer Ball tickets will be for sale soon, which is held there. Not my kind of music, I much preferred Pink Floyd live! That is what I call a gig!
My mother went to see the three tenors live there with Princess Diana present, and she loved it!
They have lots of stuff on there all the time.
Hugs.
Neil.

I'll bet Floyd live WAS unbelievable! So many kinds of music, like plants, each unique in its own.

Dear Jamie, I have seen them live lots of times and they are awesome! I also bought every single album on CDs from Capital Radio on one of there auctions all signed by them!
To see them in the Park with their sound system and the lasers going against the sky and trees was a memorable sight and sound!
I have seen them at Wembley and in Berlin! My Apple Mac has 120 watt speakers on it, so a bit of Floyd cheers me up no end!
Hugs.
