I have a tendency to look at pretty much every sort of tool as a possible garden tool. Over the years I've tried out just about everything, but I have whittled it down to about 9 tools I use consistently.
I'll add "crowbar". which I got after breaking a couple of trowels trying to remove a rock from the clay soil, nit realizing it was a BIG rock.
Also "rubber mallet" which I use (among other things) to pound in edging.
And "hammer", which comes in handy to have in my bucket for so many things.

Indeed! I'll have to borrow that crowbar idea!
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
