I am in the process of painting all my wire shelving in the two GH's. I did the "Orchids Only" GH last week and now am doing the shelves in the "Everything Else" GH. Since the wire shelves were white, I am painting them with Exterior White Enamel (latex). Now that they have begun to show some rust where the welds are, I guess this will be an every-year event.

Thanks, James. Believe me, in a GH, with high humidity and constant watering, it makes little difference. Rust will occur regardless what I use to (try to) prevent it. I will just re-coat every summer.

Ken,
Kilz just won't stop rust... the only way to really stop it is to sand down to the bare metal and then paint. And even then... We have a problem with rusting on our hot-water-heat radiators, every few years we take everything apart and sand down and repaint. It is what it is, I guess!
