I got this crape myrtle from a friend and I was wondering if someone could id it? Some of the blooms are pink, some are white, and others are a mix between the two.

Cameron, that sure is a beauty! That bloom color change happened some number of years ago on a pink variety growing at our old house; a few of the flowers were almost totally white while others were the normal pink and others were partially pink and white. I read that cool, cloudy weather could cause flower color to change but I hesitated to believe that was the reason with my tree because I'm in Florida where it's hot and humid during the summer; and although summer is our rainy season and we were having a lot of rain and clouds ... it definitely wasn't cool! Green Grin!

By the way, that's a pretty one you've got there! If you can't find an exact ID you could upload your photos to the general entry in the databse: Crepe Myrtles (Lagerstroemia)

The leaves have that signature Carl Whitcomb look to them with the red tinge along the edge. If I had to guess, I'd say this was Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica Raspberry SundaeĀ®)

Raspberry Sundae does have red edged leaves ..

http://budsandbloomsnursery.co...

Flower Color: Bright pink with white edging. Flowers from mid-summer until frost

Foliage Color: Crimson color new growth that fades to green. Very clean foliage variety.

Notes: 'Raspberry Sundae' is a Carl Whitcomb introduction. It is patent protected so propagation is prohibited. Very resistant to powdery mildew. This variety has become widely available. Very consistent performer.

I thought it looked most like Raspberry Sundae; photo's for comparison:

Sooner Plant Farms site shows a bunch of the Whitcomb Crepe Myrtles: http://www.soonerplantfarm.com...

As Dave stated in his earlier post, L. indica 'Prairie Lace' doesn't seem to have the red leaf edges as the Whitcomb collection.
