Thanks to @daylily and @dave a new tool has been created that will be very helpful to those wanting to further study the characteristics passed on to seedlings from the parent plants.
We already had the 'Child plants' feature, but you had to click on each one of the child plants to see a photo. Daylily requested having a thumbnail for each listing, that way you would be able to see a photo comparison of each on the list page. Before you could blink an eye Dave created the new feature. Hurray!

Have fun playing with it. @JungleShadows you will find this to be an interesting tool.
Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Killer')
Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Jungle Shadows')
Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Marietta')

And many more to check out. Very interesting to see the results. I wish we had a photo of 'Marietta'.

I am having fun with this feature! I hardly make any seeds anymore, but it is really interesting to have the thumbnail so you can quickly see off spring that do not resemble the parent as much!

Fun addition, Dave! Thanks for adding it so quickly!

If you know parents of any sempervivum in the database let me know.

Do we have the parent plants listed in the database Chromo? I'm not finding them.

Bev, I had no idea spelling was going to be such a problem! Zuzu (you must know Zuzu?) thinks I'm a total illiterate. Here I am, innocently ( Angel ) trying to get more badges so I can feel as if I'm accomplishing something in life, snapping photos of all my good old houseplants (somehow it never occurred to me that they, too, have fancy Latin names) and every time I think I've found something new that no one else in ATP has found, Zuzu catches me in a spelling error. *Blush* Sigh.

Such is life.

Go with God.

I think many of us have been caught in spelling errors, that's why we have people like Zuzu to make the corrections. Hurray!

Lynn,

One thing I noticed is that there is a "Crests Fuzzy Wuzzy" that shouldn't be in there. That's how 'Fuzzy Wuzzy' is supposed to look! It does make an occasional normal rosette but most are not.

So there should be just one entry for 'Fuzzy Wuzzy', which would contain both forms?
Let me know and I can combine the two entries.

In the database, on the Bambi Kino's page, you can read:

Seed parent: S. from Ispartae/Isparta, Turkey
Pollen parent: S. marmoreum ssp. erythraeum Pirin

Thanks for your help, Lynn ;)

Yes, I know that information is there Chromo, but we don't have the parent plants don't have their own entries. That is why it doesn't link to them.

Kate, sadly those two will only be available in the U.S., and not until 2015, exclusively through Young's Garden Center in Roseburg, Oregon.

Lynn,

Yes it is the same plant really. I know Peter had taken the "crests" form off his list and it's all 'Fuzzy Wuzzy'.

Thanks Kate for the kind words on my babies. Toby is propagating these plants now and the first of my introductions should be available next year. Hopefully there will be new ones coming each year for many years as I'm really getting into the crossing game. There are about two huindred seedlings from 'Helen Payne' X 'Polly Bishop' that I'm REALLY excited to see next spring when they mature. The mind boggles at the combinations of purple and grey.

Kevin
