Wonderful. Love it. In some places there is a problem with local authorities stopping people from doing this. Hopefully the planning laws are now changing.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I see a couple of lawns converted into edible gardens in town now. I think the high prices for food is causing people to re-think how they use their lawns.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.

I am converting my lawn bit by bit. However, the local authority keeps taxes down by increasing the price of water. Funny, at one time we were positively discouraged from using water. People started converting to water tanks. After water got common again, the local authority realised they were losing money because of water tanks. They then slapped a general tax on water to get the money from people outside their system. Lol.

if every home had just a small food plot... think what a difference that could make!!

Even here in the north, it's entirely possible to grow and eat veggies in season all year around... or nearly so, with a little fill-in from canned and frozen and otherwise stored. THAT is my goal! Smiling

I made the mistake of asking...

But I am putting in a new FLOWER bed out front and it will have some pretty lettuce, radishes and other edibles planted right within. Most people won't even notice.

I am of similar mind. Seriously funds challenged for the infrastructure, but somehow, I WILL get there.

I think we should all go back to home veggie plots. Better for our health, the environment, etc.

The people who MIND won't notice.
Many of us who are FOR it will notice and applaud!
