Leaf texture reminds me of hound's tongue, Cynoglossum officinale, first year rosettes. Are there any in bloom?

Is that a caterpillar on/in the bottom right plant? It's pretty big and the plant doesn't look damaged enough to have gotten it to that size, may be crawling around randomly to look for a place to pupate.

Looks more like a centipede than a caterpillar....

Plants might be aster... Or phlox...
Sliphium, or rudbeckia.. Or echinacea....

Kind of an ink blot question, until they get larger.
