Purple crocus buds showing this evening. about 3 plants of I.reticulata 'Harmony' trying to do the same. I haven't been out there, but John walks the garden as being inside drives him nuts. He too a tarp full of leaves down the hill into the woods today. He a a depression he calls the 'gravel pit' to fill with same. It was full of water earlier in the month, but ground is thawing so water is receeding.

After the hardest winter on record I did not think my tree ferns would survive!
I know I have eaten fried Tarantulas, and they were indeed very nice, but this gives me a lot of pleasure. One of of my tree ferns coming back to life, and looking like a Tarantula!

.... I don't understand that Pieris plant with 2 colors & types of flowers; are they both flowers?--- or is one type really a bract or something?? It's so pretty and unique...
