Oh no, I am not a professional photographer Hilarious! I just like to play around; sometimes I get inspired and lucky.
I chopped the plant back about a month ago and threw the seeds in an area where I hope to see flax in the future...with all the bonus rain we've had lately it's starting a late season come back. This is it yesterday:

I love flax! I had some at the base of my trellis, shading my clematis roots, for years. I never looked up whether it was annual or perennial, to see if it was the same plant, or reseeding itself. This year, it never appeared. Crying I miss my lovely blue flax! Looks like I need to get some seed!

Yes--the purple flowered thing is Verbena--homestead purple, which does overwinter for me where the runners take root in the gravely soil, as long as the winter/spring is not too soggy.
The flax seems reliably perennial for me and also self sows like crazy, so it's hard to tell.
The camera is a Pentax K-x (I hate the limits of proprietary batteries).

Cheers!
