I wish I had one of those video cams that can be used at night. It'd be great to know for sure what comes to my water & feed station out there. The birds (who already had feeders and water in the yard) and a couple of deer come during the day. I know that the wild hogs and coons come at night sometimes. Not sure what else does. Well, the armadillo does, but it likes my yard better. I moved my trap to a different place in the yard this evening, hope I catch one. I need to take my yard back!

I'd also like one of those cameras to catch the dog poopers and their sneaky owners who only walk their dogs after 10 PM...so no one can see that they don't pick it up. Then I'd put a little sign on the lawn reading..."Please pick up after your dog, or visit YouTube to see yourself and Poochie" with an arrow pointing to the camera on the roof. The camera prices have gone down considerably....

Heck, you can get an 8 camera 72 hour DVR setup from Costco for a couple hundred dollars. Smiling

I'm very happy to say it is RAINING! Not sure how long it'll last, but this storm has been pretty slow moving most of the day. Very exciting. Smiling

Sandi, it rained here fairly steadily for about an hour and a half. I'd say .5? No way did we get an inch of rain, but every little bit helps. I imagine ya'll were along the same lines.

And a friend of mine sent me a link to this video. Maybe this is why they won't stay out of our gardens?

Ha! I didn't know they like to linger in water containers. Also, they're in your garden because they like to eat little critters that live in the soil..that's why they dig. Out in the wild, those little things have about disappeared...but in a watered yard, they find them! What a blessing it was last night & this morning! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! We got about an inch. There's a slight chance for more later today.

Yum...figs are really ripening now. Critters do mess with some of them....no surprise there, with the drought it's worse. I'll have to start checking every single day and bring them in more often. I DO love the figs!

Ooooh...I love figs too! Our SIL cut down a huge fig tree that hung over the water at the lake. I was more than a little disappointed, but figured I'd replace it one day...but never did. They were the real big black ones....so good!

We're not supposed to get rain again for at least two weeks from the latest forecast. :(

Meanwhile, my parents in PA have been worried about flooding as it's been raining there every other day.

No, no, no! I was afraid of this! Why don't they just admit it...they were wrong in the first prediction! So....okay, I'm just stuck here in the desert...FOREVER? El Nino, come here and rescue me! Please!

I'm just getting especially cranky in my senior years, I guess. Gotta vent, you know? We may not even get to experience any "neutral" weather, which just leads me to believe La Nina never really ended at all.

I need to go wash my car. Maybe that will help.
