That is a wonderful simple idea, so much easier then having to bend over and put dirt in pots. Thank you for showing this. Big Grin

Good, simple idea. I don't know if you use a little stool also for doing the work. Even that can be carried as part of the set.

But somehow I remembered my young days when the barber made me sit on such a plank placed on the 'barber chair' in the saloon so that my head rose to a comfortable height for him to do the hair cut while I also saw myself in the mirror!
Rolling my eyes.

Great idea Holly. Think I will use it tomorrow when I go out to pot some plants up.

Dinu, great memory. I remember seeing my baby brother sitting on a board across the arms of the barber chair. Thank you for the memories. Smiling

Thanks, I have a potting shed but still find these wheelbarrows and board so convenient that I hardly ever use the potting shed for more than tool storage.
Dinu, What a great memory. I remember watching my cousins getting their hair cut the same way sitting up on a board. LOL

Thanks. Never thought of using the cleats on the bottom of the scrap lumber to keep the board from sliding.
Guess I will be scrounging for some bits of lumber!

Really great idea!

It works fine for pouring soil-less mix into insert trays and plug trays for seed starting, or 4" pots for potting-up! The spill-over goes right back into the wheelbarrow, which makes filling corner cells and edge cells much easier.

A board-on-a-barrow is also good for chopping up fruit-stand-rejects for the compost heap, with a cleaver.

Two wheelbarrows side-by-side make it much easier to screen bark or compost or chipped wood. The only time I have to bend over is to pick up "rejects" that I flipped off the screens onto a tarp spread under the wheelbarrows.

Simple, but positively brilliant! Like greene, I hadn't thought about putting the stops on the underside of a board! And by doing that, you can use two smaller width boards to make a wider platform if you don't have any of the wider lumber available. (Just make sure to use enough screws or nails so it doesn't wiggle sideways. Smiling )
