Leslie -- I noticed that you very artfully have avoided giving us an actual count. This is a *fess up* thread, isn't it? Hmmm?????

Yup, no fuzzy numbers allowed. And yes you count any iris that is new to your collection regardless of how you got it. Even if you stole it from the grave of some poor soal. Angel

Oh, I think I have a reprieve! New to me..... I bought a lot of replacements. Since replacements do not count I will have to re-tally. Perhaps that guy in the white coat carrying the giant net and approaching the house stealthily..... oh, wait, that is just my batty old neighbor looking to catch butterflies.

163 new iris planted so far this season - (but half a dozen dwarfs and 3 intermediates haven't arrived yet.) so, 9 +163 = 172
12 are duplicates ( ordered 2 of) so 172 minus 12= 160
23 were trades so 160 minus 23 = 137

Many replanted old noids. Not included in tally.

Ha! I was ahead of all of you because I had actually posted my tally on the "How Many Do You Have Ordered?" thread days ago.

This is what I posted then and I am sticking to those numbers - except for the Grateful Hawk Noid thingy I picked up:

"17 SDB's, 21 IB/BB/MB, 86 Tall, 2 Species X, 6 JA.... how did that happen? Oh yeah, I joined ATP!! Hilarious!
Thank You! all my enablers! "

Now 87 Tall. And Tom, that is Linnea that got cemetery flowers, not me! Unless that is where you got the ones you sent me..... Rolling on the floor laughing

Trades are included in my numbers, as they were still all new ones for my garden.

I posted the 10 historics before

Extras from orders: TBs Pink Positive & One Step Beyond
MTB Carla Beth

this is much smaller than orders from yesteryear, but as I said we are cutting back because we are older & we do have our seedlings to deal with.

So that is 25 new plants & fussing with our own. Is there a prize for the least?

OK -- I went back and counted my actual acquisitions this year and I actually have 32, with two more in the mail and one promised.

For a total of 35 -- which takes me out of the *KidStuff* category and puts me smack into the *GoodStart* category!! Green Grin!

Well, I have 2 more commercial orders to come yet, and I will add those when they do...and I have 2 "for postage" boxes coming, and I will add those, also. And being an honest sort of fellow....if I order any from the HIPS left over sale...rest assured that I will add that number to the total..........And there is a possibility that I MAY get another "bunch" of NOID iris....and those will be added, as well!
But as it stands now, there have been 341 named rhizomes planted this year....but, in my defense, there were 8 cultivars that came as "triplets", and were planted "as singles", and not as a clump....it's in the spirit of honesty that I explain this, and not to use it as any form of excuse ! The 341 # includes those "triplets" ! There have been 41 NOIDs planted, and some of those came as multiple rhizomes of the same cultivar...but I did not note which ones, or how many...they were planted as "clumps" of the same cultivar, and, honestly, If I were not so lazy, I could go out and figure the actual # of rhizomes involved ! I hope that you will accept my "guess-timate" that the 41 noids numbered about 60 rhizomes.....so...if my math is correct, I have planted 401 rhizomes, of 366 different cultivars........Arlyn

OK ,! I just remembered that I also received, as bonus iris, 4 cultivars that I already grow...those were potted, and I'll give them to my Daughter....but, even though they are 'doubles "of something I already grow, and will not be 'permanent residents"...I feel that I should report them, and throw myself at your mercy ! Consider this to be the "1st Amendment" to my list (I'm thinking I really need to hurry and get to the "5th" amendment Sticking tongue out )...............Arlyn
