Peanut butter cookies.....I can smell them baking!

Great peaceful photos, Neil. The robins are here, dancing and prancing all over my back yard. It's a good thing.

My poor snowdrops are down to 2 although I thank them for appearing even though they are white. Forcythia not even out as yet. We all need spring here & it is slow, although we don't have it in Feb. what we did get was wind, knowcking power out for three days. It's back, but need flowers to accompany the heat. Enjoying the pictures very much.

I can't even find my forsythia for the snow, or any of my early spring bulbs due to so much snow still covering. I need some good 4 days in a row with temps at the least 38º or higher and full sunshine........get all this dirty looking white stuff gone.

Saw on the weather forecast this morning that Saturday night and Sunday morning is looking at rain. I don't mind rain....you don't have to shovel rain....and any snow left from the 40's we're expecting on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. the rain and 40's Sat. and Sun. will take care of it.

Once this sun room stays at 60 at night all the rest of my tropical s downstairs can be brought up, cut back, cleaned up and re-potted. That is when I will start to feel human again.

Spring is definitely just around the corner here now, the lambs are in the field, snowdrops are up and it's getting lighter in the mornings. Can't wait for Spring! I went to the garden centre yesterday to see some flowers, always cheers me up. This weekend I'm going to Belsay Hall gardens to see their carpets of snowdrops so looking forward to that :)
Here's a witch hazel from the garden centre.

Hi Sue....
Great to see you here.
I have a baby witch hazel in my yard, I just hope it made it through the winter.

I think your spring is earlier than ours!

Its been in the lower 40's here for the two three days but drops to the teens at night. Have NOT seen considerable melting though there is some lawn showing along sidewalk and drive edges. "The nnorth side of the street has less snow than our side. Pooh I am so sick of dirty white stuff.

DH likes to pick on me, the snow will melt just in time for another snow storm it is only MARCH. I know, I know........ Thumbs down

Hi Sharon, good to see you too :)

When I lived in Maine I felt that Spring would never arrive, especially when my sisters would tell me about the daffodils in March that they were seeing. But I found that by the end of May we had pretty much caught up. Not much comfort when there's still snow on the ground I know.. This has been a particular long and cold winter for us in Britain, so I'm eagerly anticipating spring blooms!

I'm watching robins play in the sunshine in my back yard this morning, so that's a sure sign of good things to come.

And we haven't had very much snow at all, so maybe soon!

These are lovely steps into spring Neil, beautiful. We had 50 degrees today so we are headed into spring finally. I just have to jump over a few snow piles!

We almost hit 70 one day this week. All our snow is gone except in the North facing deep ditches.
Spring rains, and robins fighting in the yard, spring cannot be far away.

No I know now spring is on its way. The snow is almost gone. The red-wing blackbird has returned along with it the European Starlings and the Grackles. I could live without them two though because they are such messy birds. They fling the bird seed all over the place.

I have hyacinths coming up there about 4 inches now, my pansies are up but then I think that was last picture I'd posted, only the snow is gone from them now. Supposed to hit 50 again today so that will 3 days in a row. Now if only it would dry up a little and have the sun shining instead of gray, cloudy and rain I could get out and work and not be such a complainer about the weather.

Nothing in bloom except a few early crocus & finally 4 snowdrops. As we get the leaves off the beds the foliage of daffodils & later crocus appears. We only have a very few tulips because of the deer.

Yes it definitely has spring. Went out and raked a couple beds to see what was under the leaves. Where I saw 3 hyacinth before is actually many more......
