Does anyone know where I could go to download some of the cute little smilies we have at the bottom of the page at ATP?? There are ten or twelve of them that I'd love to have on my laptop to use in e-mail etc. I think Dave or someone may have posted a link awhile back but I'm not sure ... I may be thinking about something else. Anyhow ... if anyone can tell me where to find them for downloading to my laptop I'd be so grateful. Lovey dubby

Most of these "HipChat" are not animated, but they are free:

Just do an internet search for free animated Gifs or emoticons. Margaret and I use lots of them in our e-mails. One site I use is www.myemoticons.com

Thanks y'all. I'll have to give those sites a look and see if any of the cuties we use here on ATP are included in their lists!

I just tried a right-click on an emoticon below and "Copy Image".

When I paste that into a Word doc and "keep original formatting", or paste it into "MS Office", I get the image but it isn't animated.

Rick, I'm pretty challenged when it comes to technical stuff; I don't know if there's any way to do a "right click" on my Macbook laptop. I've copied and pasted stuff into a Word doc before but it doesn't work with the emoticons here; I tried but it just copies the typed word. I looked around on the internet for free downloads but didn't find the cute ones that we have here on ATP. Sad I don't care if they are animated or not, I just really like a few of them at the bottom of the page here.

Find the ones that are formatted in BB code.

LOL Debra ... that's like me trying to read chinese; should I look for something that says they are formatted in BB Code?

edited to say: No offense meant by chinese; English is my first and only language and I sometimes have trouble with it. Smiling

I don't think MS Word supported animated graphics.

LOL, that's probably why it didn't work; I thought maybe it was something I was doing wrong or didn't understand.

I don't necessarily have to have animated emoticons, just like some of the ones we have here on ATP and thought it would be nice if I could use them in e-mails etc.

Lin,

If I had known you were in "Mac World", I wouldn't have suggested the Microsoft right-click. I don't know any Mac mojo,. just a little MS mojo.

if there is a similar thing, it might have a name like "copy to clipboard".

And I think Dave is right: Microsoft Word doesn't seem eager to play with animated GIFs. Maybe some Mac graphics program? Like, paste it into a graphics program and see if it stays animated. Then copy-paste from the GRAPHICS program into something else, and see if it stays animated.

Confused Thanks for the suggestions Rick ... I'm going to have to try to get my husband to sit down and figure it out for me if he can ever find a minute ... I'm totally lost. Green Grin!
