The club could highlight his irises at their sale. that way the particular cultivars would keep going in several gardens.

Last year we gave him an entire table. I made signs and we introduced everyone to our 'local hybridizer'. He is slowing down a bit and we just added his irises to the rest in alphabetical order. It was kinda sad Lucy.

It is sad to see a farm go by the wayside... and I'm sure very difficult for them.
Is there a way to get a list of his cultivars? Maybe we could each select a few so that they continue to be grown and traded?

Sad here also--in one way--don't know how long we are going along in the garden as well. If someone or two people could visit him during season, they could learn a lot about hybridizing. How about copies over winter of his garden notebooks? sometimes family doesn't understand how valuable they are & throw them out because they are not interested.

What a truly nifty gift, Lucy! Hey, Bonnie, do you know any of his kids or neighbors you could suggest it to?
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Bonnie, I would love to get Shanny Orange, how "early" in the spring do you want me to remind you?

Remind me in April or May and I will get it on his 'dig' list. He makes notes and is good to follow up.
