Hi SeeBee!

I just love Strange Magic! and Grey Witch - although it has never really caught my eye before (although it seems to be very popular) I am rethinking - those photos are great ~Jan

Thumb of 2014-09-06/Hazelcrestmikeb/93ce82 My Cup Overflows - had the same effect.
There are so many white, near white out there to choose from.

Thumb of 2014-09-06/Hazelcrestmikeb/82046e Boundless Beauty - as was mentioned earlier is definitely in the top five of whites IMHO.

Thumb of 2014-09-06/Hazelcrestmikeb/c2bb28 Voila Francois - is right there also.

Beautiful! I really love SHELBY and FINAL TOUCH - love those bicolors (or are they bitones?).

Betty - Final Touch is registered as a bicolor. It looks more like a bitone here. I don't think Shelby would qualify as either.

I really like this thread as I can learn about other daylilies that might do well in my zone. I need to find some smaller blooming ones to add some diversity to my gardens. Below are ones that I think did well in my gardens this year.

Mike, I must admit that I am partial to whites myself and LAST SNOWFLAKE is blooming for me as I write and it is certainly a keeper! ARCTIC LACE is another white beauty that has sent up a rebloom scape so I will get a few blossoms for awhile.

Arctic Lace

White Eyes Pink Dragon - still have a couple of buds to go
Thumb of 2014-09-05/nh4me/2cd187

Sultry Girls - only in the garden for two years, it was a real performer this summer.
Thumb of 2014-09-05/nh4me/e4cf38

Isabelle Rose - this looks so beautiful in a clump and blooms for a long time, one of my favorites!
Thumb of 2014-09-05/nh4me/abc9de

Humble Cry - Lovely polychrome that now has sent up two rebloom scapes.
Thumb of 2014-09-05/nh4me/2194e7

Fang & Claw - my husband's favorite, I counted over 100 bud scars on this the other day and there are still two buds to go

Victoria Grace - an older daylily that makes me smile it's so colorful and it's still blooming, has been for well over a month.
Thumb of 2014-09-06/nh4me/f20782

Peggy Jeffcoat - so pretty in the garden and I still have one bud to go.
Thumb of 2014-09-06/nh4me/415526

Self Imposed Paradise - a very beautiful yellow with substance like Tuperware. Multiple buds still to come and it bloomed earlier in the season.
Life is short, enjoy the ride!

Such beautiful plants Deb and Karin. Deep envy, also, alas.

I agree with Glen. Self Imposed Paradise reminds me of the late Mr Whatley's Solar Music and Ram.

Debra, it is amazing how we sometimes leave something out of our best. I guess we can't list them all. Rolling on the floor laughing

Nope, we can't. Although Solar Music was a poor performer for me this year, it did very well the two years previous.

Hmm, the deer ate about 90% of my garden this season, despite the electronic deer repellants I'd bought. ( this has now been remedied with a ginormous deer fence.) Of the blooms I got to see, I LOVED Tim Herrington's FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. It was vigorous and set pods ( which the *(())^ deer ate!).

Thumb of 2014-09-09/floota/09342d

Judy Davisson's plants do extremely well here. I got to see her 'Dr. Handsome' bloom here and LOVE it, along with a new one called PRINCESS SYNDROME.
Dr. Handsome and Princess Syndrome:

And I confessed to being extremely prejudiced on the next one, but this year I was very happy with a Tim Herrington seedling he sent me to grow. He knows I LOVE the green throats. This was registered last month as 'Julie Covington' and will be one of Tim's 2015 introductions. Tim sent me one fan about a year ago, and yesterday I counted and saw its gone to 5 fans. Love this one and saw most of the blooms this year. Can't wait to see it bloom again next year - with no deer worries! This is Tim's greenest one to date. ( doing the happy dance here.)

Wow, Julie, congrats on your namesake daylily -- I love it and would love to get one myself! I have FRIED GREEN TOMATOES and hope it will bloom for me this coming spring -- can't wait!

I saw your blog yesterday and that certainly is a huge deer fence, but I think it does blend in nicely.

Julie, you could always use the stainless steel wire from the hardware store that have small squares in it at the base of the fence to keep the cats in and other predators out. You can make a trench a few inches down to discourage digging and secure it to the bottom of the fence. didn't finish reading the blog and admiring the pics. I will have to visit again soon. The fence look great, not to mention the garden layout. You could use some annual vines in areas of the fence that you would like to cover. One of my fav is the Cardinal vines to attract humming birds.
