I ate it at a restaurant in Santa Fe a few years ago, and loved it. Later I found they published the recipe on line, so I copied it and tried it. I was looking for the recipe on line again, and don't find it, it's been 5 or 6 years. I wanted to put the link on here, but I guess they don't have it on line anymore, and I can't remember the name of the restaurant. Anyway, it's made with pork, potatoes, fresh tomatoes, roasted green chili, onion, and Mexican Oregano. It's really great. I also make home made Tortilla's to go with it. Yummm.

Comes fall and winter I make soups in my crockpot. Not much into soup in the hot summer.

That sounds good , Rita. I love soups and stews and all those comfort foods when it turns cooler. Our apple orchards in this area serve lunch throughout the fall and it's always fun to do that on a sunny day. If you order lunch, they serve apple pie and ice cream for just $1.00. There is an elderly gentleman along the way that sells really unusual squash and gourds for decorating the front porch. I love fall!!!!

Does it take forever to load a picture on here?? I am pretty challenged when it comes to tech stuff so I always need help. I am using an iPad which has my pictures on it. I tried to load a picture but it seemed like it just kept "loading" with nothing happening. Should I expect it to take forever for two pictures??

Sometimes that happens, I just leave the page and come back and try again. Often that works. It shouldn't take very long to load.

Great sounding recipes! I am so very behind in harvesting....big storms made a big mess. Thankfully one of the young families from church is coming to pick apples this week. Still have many many peppers and green tomatoes. And I'm the same as you Rita.....is it time to pull the zukes? Forecasts are for lows in the upper 30s next week!😨

My zucchini plants are looking worse each day and I hardly see any flowers now. I have one zuc developing so will at least wait for that one to be ready and then we will see.

Mine are about the same Rita, lots of powdery mildew but some new growth. Not many zukes anymore.

I really can't complain. I just planted those zucchini in the spring and ignored them except for harvesting lots and lots and lots of zucchini. So a very great year for zucs here in my garden.

We're supposed to have "heavy thunderstorms" tomorrow (apparently we haven't had enough rain lately Blinking ), to say nothing of high temps in the 50s for the next few days at least -- so today I picked tomatoes (enough for another large baking sheet or two to roast for sauce, and maybe half a dozen pints of salsa), cucumbers (probably will give quite a few of those away), and hot banana and peperoncino peppers for pickling, as well as buying 4 dozen ears of corn at a farm market stand in Marinette, Wisconsin. Should be able to keep busy while it's raining! Thumbs up

Raining again this morning here, and looks like it will be raining for a while. Guess I get to feed the horses in the rain again, at least it's a slow rain, and no lightning. I should have picked more tomatoes yesterday to can today, but I had to take my dog to the vet. Looks like she's diabetic.

My daughters cat is diabetic. It gets shots every day just like a human does. They have to hire someone to come in to do it when they are gone!!!

I'm waiting for them to call me with the results of the blood pannel, but the urine test they did yesterday looked like it was most likely that.

Very stressful when our pets have problems... years ago one of our cats developed diabetes, but she was already quite old and we opted to just support her and love her for whatever time she had left, rather than stressing her with the shots and so on. She did still live for quite some time after being diagnosed, and then suddenly went downhill -- but at the time she was diagnosed my vet said that changing her diet wouldn't be of any help and I believe that was an error; in retrospect I think that if I had taken her totally off dry food and just gone with a high protein canned cat food she would have done even better. At any rate, I think I have a pretty good idea of what you're going through... Group hug

Tom(tveguy3) I gave one of my dear dogs insulin shots 2x daily. He lived nearly a year then downhill fast. In a week my Bob was gone. The shots weren't too bad and he tolerated them well. Group hug

I'm still waiting to hear from the vet on the blood work. Then we can figure out what's next. She's only 9, and healthy otherwise, so I will probably opt for insulin, unless there is something else going on we don't know about yet.

I have another diabetes interview tomorrow morning. I think I won't be able to avoid insulin injections anymore.

Sorry to hear that, Glen. I have several friends doing that. It will be a great day when they find a remedy for that.
