Ewwww Sticking tongue out
Well, I'm not the most patient person either and that is definitely something I find frustrating about growing some things from seed--waiting till almost first frost for some of them to finally bloom! Hilarious!

My favorite things to grow from seed are cosmos (yay cosmos) and borage--both sprout so easily and quickly!!

"Skipping the wait" is my favorite gardening method. Green Grin!

As for tea, I make alfalfa tea which smells fine until it really gets fermented and even then isn't too stinky. I keep a bin of alfalfa pellets and a smaller container with a mesh bag that has maybe a cup of them originally, fill the container with water and steep for however long until I need to give somebody a drink of tea.......

I planted many borage plants this spring, so I hope it seeds itself wildly here.

We bought garden supplies yesterday afternoon and I got a little four-pack of basil because mine ain't growing at all fast enough. I also picked up, for a dollar, a Euphorbium called Diamond Dust or some such -- it's a tender perennial which means annual here, but it is so pretty! with little white flowers sprinkled all over. I should have snagged several but didn't know enough at the time. This one will look purty in some container or other. Here's a picture: http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com... -- they don't even bother calling it a perrenial at that nursery. Smart of them.

Out into it, catch y'all later....

I did that last year, Kyla--had sown some lime basil which took forever to grow, and so finally ended up buying a little container of sweet basil. The lime basil finally bloomed at the very end of the season!

Pretty Euphorbium--enjoy!

chelle said:I have a really pretty, small-flowered narcissus that must have come from you, Catmint. I know I didn't order it, but it's in with the other new bulbs in the debris beds. I love it!

I'm taking a break from planting glads right now. I really wish I had gotten myself up earlier today so I'd be done by now. Whistling

hi, Chelle. Just found these blooming in my daffodil bed and thought of you. Smiling Do these look similar to yours? I think they might be 'Martinette'.

Awwww...that's sweet.

That one looks like it has a much fuller face so I don't think that's it, but I do have some others blooming that might be Martinette.

Current wants:

Perennial Hollyhocks, which I did not know existed until I got the Annie's catalog. Wowzer! Need me somea those.

Also, petunias. I think we need some. I haven't grown them often but right now they seem good, heat tolerant, easy, flowers, what's not to like?

I love the petunias and always like to get some each season! @SSGardener grew petunias once from seed.

Yes, it was a good learning experience to grow petunias from seed, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. Sticking tongue out

I have just enough grow lights to grow edibles from seed.

I may soon get to a point where I don't need to buy annuals at all, but petunias and begonias are always so tempting!

Well, I'd winter sow them if I grew them from seed but I'm thinking now it's time to stop all that silliness and just buy plants. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Was there something challenging or difficult about growing petunias from seed?

Just today had a chance to check a few of my vermiculite containers (for the first time in many weeks *Blush* )...and guess what I found...lots and lots of seedlings from Toad Lily (Tricyrtis hirta 'Miyazaki')!! Hurray! It's supposed to be good weather for potting up this week, so I hope to get a bunch of these done!
