Still have an occasional hummingbird in there, but most have packed their wee little bags and headed south...smart birds. Wish I could do the same.

I just ordered three toad lilies from Bluestone.

They were half price.

I'd be interested to know if they're still potting in the hull material, Kyla. I haven't ordered from them in a while, but their offerings are sometimes so very tempting.

Yes, they have it on their site that they are using coir pots, raving on about how great they are.

I remember Bluestone as having a fabulous reputation; I know I have ordered from them in the past but that was at least three gardens ago and I forget what it was. Whistling

And I just had to have me some toad lilies, demmit.

Hilarious! I do understand that! Green Grin!

I haven't tried toad lilies yet. I'm still working on getting happy stands of trillium and corydalis going...in the yard gardens, not just in the woods. Sticking tongue out

Apparently, they do well in the mostly shaded areas, and tolerate a bit of dryness as well as wetness -- and bloom into the fall... and a few other attractive qualities I forget, and they're so cool looking!

I don't have much familiarity with trillium though I know of it, and don't think I've ever seen corydalis.

Edit: Just googled it. What a pretty thing! and it's a medicinal herb too? Have to investigate more closely.

This one did really well for me in a container of compost.

is in the ground and struggling. I think it needs a deeper soil and more even moisture than what it's been getting.

is still in its starter pot of sand and chicken grit, and it's doing okay.

I like them all. Big Grin

I even brought one indoors. It's been dropping seeds all over the piano, but oh well. Whistling

My daughter had a half day of school today and one of her friends had invited her over for after school and I didn't have to pick her up until 6 pm! Hurray! This gave me the extra time I needed to stop at the PO and get stuff mailed. Thumbs up
