Using Your Digital Camera To Get a Good Look

When I can't see what I need to see, I use my digital camera or the camera on my phone to get a better look.

I've long done this. It's invaluable to ID things, too! plants, insects, butterflies, birds, etc. The closeup function on my camera for small details or edit modes on the software once the image is on my computer is great to do IDs or to see details you might miss otherwise.

I agree A magnifying glass also works. Even better, an inexpensive jeweler's loupe for tiny things. MR
