Started our fall vegetable garden seeds. Thumbs up

I also have been working on stone walls around all our borders & building a raised asparagus bed (25'X4') behind our garden. The stone walls have been a ongoing long-term project here.

Just waiting for the weather to cool down. My little ponds need attention. Work sends me to Maui this month. Rough, I know! But when I get some time off at home, I will be finishing up the shelving in the new greenhouse in preparation for winter protection.

And I agree with Cheryl! I'm envious of those raised beds!

Waiting for the front. Cooler temps and probably rain, it'll be heavenly!

So right, Linda! We had a little rain earlier this week, but not enough. I'm already planning to put the plants away for winter. The drought and intense heat have taken a toll. Very disappointing summer.

Rain today made me put off mowing this morning. Oh well. IT'S RAIN, right?!

Right, Cheryl! Had a couple hours of drizzle this morning. Disappointing as "they" kept calling for real rain, but I'll take it over another day of heat and sun.

We were caught in a down pour, a real gully washer, in south Austin late this afternoon. The streets were flooded, rain was coming down in sheets. We decided to find a restaurant and wait it out until after the 5 PM traffic. When the rain seemed to have past, we ran for the car and into rain again on the Loop, and all the way home. It is just barely sprinkling now, about 69° and lovely outside.
Guess the front has blown through. Should be in the 70s tomorrow. Crazy Texas weather! I guess it's time to start thinking about putting the plants up for winter.

Yes, it was a cold front. We only got 1/2" according to the rain gauge. But it was an on and off slow rain, the kind my yard loves and benefits from. I was able to mow in the late evening. It's supposed to only get up to 80º tomorrow. Sounds like a perfect weekend! I plan to enjoy it in the greenhouse, finishing up the shelving to get ready for winter.

57 here this morning. Wanting to have on a long-sleeved shirt only halfway through September feels just plain weird. Big Grin

It's drizzling here and 60. Noticed the sprinklers were on up and down our side of the street. Saturday is our only watering day for the week, and only from midnight to 10 AM. We have a chance of rain every day this week! Life is good!

We got 2.75" yesterday & another 1.35" last night when the cool front came through. We too really needed it.
