Last year I decided that I had a southern oak leech, (aureolaria pectinata).

This year, I've discovered a patch of Aureolaria that look the same... Except for the flowers that are almost half the size!

These plants make up for the small flowers by being loaded with buds!

The flowers don't have the pronounced "lips" that all the others have, and I'm not finding anything similar on google.

Could it be A. laevigata? I'm not certain but I believe it's found in parts of Georgia.

edited to say: Forget this post ... not the same plant at all.

Maybe you can see the foliage better with this pic... The foliage is just like the oak leech.

I did used to have something very similar to the Aureolaria laevigata in my previous garden...
but it has those lips... and the throat... which this plant does not...
