Lynn & Co: I received the plant I photographed and uploaded today from Sequim Rare Plants, titled only Sempervivum 'Atroviolaceum.' Let me know if it's in the wrong category... Thanks! MR

MR, it could be you have it in the correct entry. We will see what it looks like in the spring. That will tell us for sure. I see that yours has lovely water markings which would be correct for S. 'Atroviolaceum'.

OK. I'll do my best to keep the photos coming. Good to know it seems that God willing, I can plan to live a little longer (as much as any of us can.) Just discovered that the priest who died of a heart attack night before last was only 52. we knew he was young, and still had one kid living at home, but that's VERY young! A real reminder that we never know! MR

No, we don't know when our time will be up. That's why we should live each day as if it was our last.

I think it's almost impossible to find the real clone. I spent a long time to find description in books and old catalogues. Now I have many pictures (and plants) of different "Atro's". (with 'Atropurpureum')

Another Sempervivum is known labelled 'Violaceum' (S. tectorum violaceum). It's a bluish beauty - I love them Lovey dubby

I got this one from Arends nursery. I was working there 1,5 years. 'Alpha', 'Beta', 'Gamma' and "Ronsdorfer beauties" was breeded there.

Erwin, your S. tectorum violaceum is beautiful. The name matches the color of the semp.
