By klc
September 14, 2014

I reused an old broken fan to make a sturdy, stylish mounting for my new staghorn simply by removing the motor, separating the halves, and filling with sphagnum and potting soil mix.

Great idea. Maybe a thrift store will have a cheap fan; the one I have
on my patio isn't "old" enough yet!

klc,
My 'job' for this week is helping to clean trash out from an old mobile home.
Guess what I just spotted in the back bedroom?
Yep, old broken fans! Guess what I will not be tossing into the trash/recycle bins. Thumbs up
Thanks a bunch.

Awesome Greene!! Please post pictures if you plant them up!! nodding
I hate losing plants....I know they are "just plants" but when you nurse them along and baby them and get them to grow, bloom, and be pretty and they die....it's like losing a friend..... Crying

Might be a while. I have to empty about 30 years of accumulated junk to access that back room.
I admit that I am a hoarder, but the person who owns this mobile home would be classified as a 'professional hoarder'. Whistling
