Just a quick example of normal fall fernies for those who are just beginning to raise them. These are not dead. Do not try to bring them back to life by watering them. It can cause the roots to rot, The stems can be cut off for appearance sake but do not disturb the crown. I usually spread some fertilizer in a circle around the crown later in the fall.

I wish I had known that last year--I rotted the roots on two.
