I bought this at a native plant store in Missouri. Anyone know the name. I believe it's a salvia. It seems to grow from one point, not like some that spread by runners.

A closer photo of the flowers would help. I downloaded it and zoomed in but still can't get enough resolution.
It's not any of the Salvia that are native to Missouri. I wonder if it is Salvia sclarea though, which has escaped in Missouri? It looks like there are some bracts beneath the flowers from your photo, which along with the leaves could suggest Salvia sclarea, but a close-up would be very helpful.

I wondered if it was Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) too; leaves look like a match but a closer view of the blooms would help.

There are only 3 native and 1 non native salvia shown to grown in Missouri and to me Salvia sclarea comes the closest.

Here are some closeups. The stem is square. The leaves grow opposite each other and sometimes there is a very small leave at the leaf node. I'll be glad to grab some more photos is someone wants.

It's Pink Cat's Whiskers (Ocimum labiatum) It's not a Salvia, but is a cousin.

It's actually native to Africa and not the USA.

When I look at pictures, I think it's the pink sage that Danita mentioned. Thanks for the replies.

Looks like Danita has ID'd it.
I guess the native plant store doesn't sell only native plants!
