Hello all! I was certain that we were all still in our winter dormancy. Not much action on Cubits...
I am very much looking forward to spring! (even though we just had another coating of the white stuff)

Hello, My name is Deb/brrejr, Live North of CR. I use to love perinnals, now it's ALL about Hosta's. So much easier to take care of. I'm trying to downsize my perennial beds. I have a huge vegetable garden, the grandkids love to come and pick/eat right out of the garden. I love the huge hostas!!! I guess more bang for you buck.

Hi Deb! Gotta love the hostas, I have just a few but I really enjoy them. Not much for veggies in my small garden but it is so fun to be able to go out and have something fresh...for me it is mostly herbs that I can eat, or use for tea.

Hello Merigold and Ticker, I don't think we have met, I live N of Center Point. We farm and I can't seem to learn enough about Hostas. I love going to Dry Creek Hostas and In the Country Garden and Gifts. But am trying to find a cheaper way of getting my Hosta fix. Any sugguestions would be helpful, I see talk about liners, plugs and seeds but it all seems foreign to me. Would love to learn more......

Hi Deb,
Welcome to the addiction corner. I evidently bought some mini hostas from a co-op and lost quite a few. Diane (Ticker) told me you have to baby them along in pots for a couple of years before you can put them in the ground.

Do you all think these mini's need thinning? If so, when is the best time? I'm sure someone has told me but I don't remember. Also this picture was taken today; will they get even bigger over the summer?

Judy,
You remember last year you guys replanting them; they're filling in again. The ones you did look good but the rest look crowded to me. Especially because there are two Bitsy Gold side by side and two Tiny Tears side by side.

I guess you'll have to remove one each to make room for new ones. Big Grin
