I often see beautiful crabs both in the spring when they are in bloom and in the fall with fruit and fall color. Since I didn't plant them I find them difficult to ID. I would appreciate a generic page for crab apples to post pictures and then someone seeing them might ID them.

Unfortunately, Paul, I don't think it can be done. Too many different Malus species are crabapples. The only advice I can give you is to post your photos in the Malus entry (Plant ID #535370) and note in the caption that it's a photo of a crabapple.
