I have several amorph bulbs I tossed in the ground this spring because I didn't really know what else to do with them. It's gonna get cold one of these nights, tho not for a week yet. I'm just wondering should I dig them up now while the stem is still green and put them in pots in the g'house, or should I wait till the frost kills the stem? I would LIKE to have them do SOMETHING one of these years. LOL Green Grin!

Are they A. konjac Anna? If so cold up to a hard frost knocks them down is OK as long as they're dry. Cold and wet can lead to rot so a really well draining soil is important this time of year. I'll be lifting mine (in ground) in a couple of weeks, before frost, and just cutting off the leaf.

This one flowered in the Spring but took forever to leaf out so the tuber will probably be small.
August 26 and today.

I had them planted under my brugs I put in the ground. Maybe I will just dig them up in the next couple of days.

Let us know how big they are. How do you deal with monster brugs over winter?

Not a problem re: the brugs. Chop them back and put in the g'house. I have a large g'house.........30x64. I think this year I should try and root-prune the ones in the 24 inch pots. They are probably 9 or 10 years old and need a little TLC for once, I'm thinking. LOL

The ones in the ground................hmmmm..............haven't decided if I will dig them and put in pots, or just take cuttings and let the plants croak in the ground. Prolly have to hire a backhoe if I want to dig them. The amorphs are planted in the front, right under the brugs. I don't imagine you can see them. Green Grin!

That bed looks great. Are those Sauromatum venosum under there? You're right, I can't see the Amorphs. Green Grin! They'll build a bigger tuber in full sun for us folk up north.
