Hey everyone. Why no new Multi-plant Photos the last couple of days? Every time I click on ATP I look forward to fresh pictures. I hope to be seeing your new contributions.

You're right, not a lot of people have been posting them lately. We need more landscape/multi-plant photos!

We need more multi-plant photos, but we also need a how-to post or two. Too many of the plants in these photos aren't tagged. In many cases, the plants have to be identified by plant ID # or by the http address. If the names of the plants are typed by the owner of the photo, the plants often aren't tagged because of misspellings or because the name belongs to more than one plant.

Paul, you recently submitted a nice multi-plant photo, but one of the plants (Iris 'Eye of the Tiger') was not tagged. You spelled everything correctly, but there are two irises named Eye of the Tiger. I corrected it by typing the plant ID number of the correct iris in the box.

Thanks ZuZu........I need to be more diligent about giving plants an ID but when I see a beautiful scene in a garden that I didn't plant I often don't know the cultivars of the plants. Then I wonder if I should post them or not? Here are some examples. I know the Begonia is a semperflorens but don't know the others.

This is one of those cases where typing the names wouldn't work at all, Paul. Begonia semperflorens is a synonym for Begonia cucullata, so it would be best to type in the plant ID number (199100) for B. cucullata. If you mean Begonia x semperflorens-cultorum, typing that name wouldn't work either because we have dozens of entries with that name in the title, but the species entry has a plant ID number (86764).

I don't know the cultivar names of the petunias, heucheras, and marigolds in those photos, but typing the plant ID numbers for the generic Petunia (78235), Heuchera (232967), and Tagetes (242652) pages would produce tags.

Typing the numbers is so much easier because you don't have to worry about your spelling. Or just copy and paste the http address of the page you want in the box. Then you don't have to worry that you might transpose the numbers by accident.

Here's one thread that might be of help, Greene. There was a thread with more detailed instructions, but I can't find it.

It's on the left-hand side of the page. The last line in this series of lines I've copied and pasted:

Adding Actions:

» Upload a photo
» Post a comment
» File a growers report

Editing Actions:

» Edit data details
» Edit plant name
» Delete this plant
» Merge this plant entry with another

Thank You! goldfinch,
That is a very clear way to explain it. I understand I can go toGoodies, then to Multi-Plant Photo...and can follow the tutorial from that point.

One small question please.

Valleylynn's tutorial begins by telling us to go to 'Web Apps'.
I don't see Web Apps; has it been replaced or renamed? And if so, can the tutorial be edited to reflect that?
Thank You!

greene, Lynn can edit the post to "Goodies" which it is now called. If I'm not mistaken, it was changed to say Goodies whereas it used to be called Web Apps.

I don't think I can do the edit once it is published. I think one of the Admins has to make the change.
I am having trouble finding anything here at my place that would make a good multi-plants photo. I will go out and see if I can find anything.

Thank you for the heads up Paul and Ann. Thumbs up
