Thread OP

Since I have installed Apple IOS8 on my iPad I have not been able to upload any photos. I visited the local Apple Store and they checked out my iPad and pronounced it to be in good order.
Have you had any other reports of this issue or is this something unique going on with my computer?

We have had another user also report that a recent iphone is unable to upload photos. It's something that is definitely a problem on the iOS side and I'm uncertain what I can do to fix it. My understanding is that the new ios 8 is plagued with bugs and my hope is that they get them fixed in due order.

Next step is for me to figure out how to report this problem to Apple.

ATP apps are in the works but they won't be on iOS... Android only. I don't have a Mac and don't plan to get one and Apple makes it impossible to develop ios apps without owning a mac.

So I continued to experiment. I cannot upload a pic to Flickr using Safari. But I can upload using the Flickr app. So it certainly seems to be a Safari/ios 8 issue

You have a warranty on your new phone? Call Apple & talk to them, ask where you report this problem.

Also, this won't get Apple's attention but you can post on here or search & see what others are saying about the same problem.

Thread OP

When I installed iOS 8 on my iPad there were a number of issues. I went to the local Apple store. They reinstalled IOS8 and it appeared to correct the number of the issues. A lot of my photos were scrambled and they reloaded them from iCloud and I was told that when this was completed all of the problems would be done.
I reconnected to my home network and finished downloading all of the photos. Things look a lot better. Missing icons were restored. But to my dismay I still cannot upload photos as I originally pointed out. Clearly Apple has a problem with their new operating system.

I spent an hour with a "genius" at the Apple store just now. I updated my IPad Air yesterday to IOS 8 and it looks fine as far as pictures, Apps etc are concerned.
Except - I am not able to use Safari to upload pictures from my IPad to ATP, I can however use ICab Mobile instead which works just fine and uploads pictures in the usual speedy fashion.
I am happy to say that the "genius" now also knows about the browser ICab mobile after my visit Rolling my eyes. and he is now aware that there is a problem with Safari uploading more pictures. As I must have been the first one to report this problem. more Rolling my eyes. Smiling
Uploading pictures to Facebook in Safari also doesn't work any longer from the status bar on your Fb page, but I realized you can post by bringing up your photos, marking them and do a share to Fb.
@Dave, if you saw some strange activity from me on ATP, that was us testing different settings. The technician noticed that using Safari to upload a picture - the address bar does not go through the refresh as ICab Mobile does. He thought maybe the https/secure setting might be the culprit and there is some problem as how Safari responds to this.
Whatever, perhaps there will be an Apple update in the near future to address this, I cannot possibly be the only one reporting this. Obviously!!

That's an interesting theory. Both ATP and Facebook using https security.

Try uploading a photo over on Cubits. That is not a secure https site and I'd be interested to know if you're able to upload there.

No, it doesn't work either, the technician was incorrect.

I just posted through ICab Mobile into the September Orchid thread, no problem. I would say that is the way to go for now.

Thread OP

I purchased ICab Mobile, installed and attempted to upload a trial photo -- to no avail. Used the ICab browser to visit the ATP web page. Navigated to the "Upload an image" button. The moment I clicked on the "Choose Existing" option -- it simply disconnected. Same result after multiple attempts.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I'm not sure about "misery loves company" but I do feel a lot better knowing that this issue is not relegated to only my iPad. Hopefully Apple will realize the scope of this problem and address it sooner rather than later.

Hmm, sorry to hear it didn't work for you. I hear Apple released the update IOS 8.0.2 today which is supposed to address this problem.
Let's hope this one works.

Ursula and Apple: THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I an thrilled to be able to report that I have installed Apple's iOS 8.0.2 just now and it corrects the upload issue (along with other bugs). I have successfully uploaded a photo and my iPad seems to be working better than ever! 😃
