What is going on with all the grasshoppers this year? We have TONS of them and they are huge. I don't remember another year with this many. I took a pretty crazy video of one eating one of my dahlia leaves. Easy to see how a whole bunch of them can do a lot of damage fast!

Do they come in cycles like locust?

I think it may just have to do with the conditions being suitable for them. This year here was very odd. Early in the season, we had tons of tiny baby grasshoppers; and then they all seemed to vanish. I see a few of the big ones now, but not like I expected from the number of little ones we had. But I could be wrong. Rolling my eyes.
