Just want to say I think it's dandelion, Taraxacum officinale. If I am recalling correctly, hawkweed has hairy leaves and dandelion leaves are smooth and hairless.

Wow on the pink dandelion! Lovey dubby

On another thought, it also looks kinda' like shepherd's purse. I'm going from memory here, so could be way off base but think dandelion leaves are more like an arrow >>>>

I found Pink Dandelion (Taraxacum pseudoroseum) in the ATP database, love those pretty pink dandelion blooms!

I'd never heard of Crepis incana (common name "Pink Dandelion") that someone mentioned earlier and it sure is pretty too: https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/...

Well, looking at the picture today I'm noticing the thick spine of the leaves and it looks more like a thistle. Maybe a young bull thistle rosette.

Note that the plant in question has no thorns.
Here are plenty of photos of the basal rosettes of Cirsium vulgare, bull thistle:

Yes, you're right about the thistle Lori. Thumbs up

It must be a dandelion, Taraxacum officinale.

Trying to find pictures for reference isn't as easy as I though it would be.

I don't know what you mean. You can find hundreds of pictures by simply typing "Taraxacum officinale" into a Google search bar and then clicking on "Images".

This is a good comparison to Tee's photo, I think.

I think it is dandelion. Here is a description of the plant. I did not know it is full with vitamins. Maybe I should eat them, instead of throwing them away.

Plant my whole backyard, AND front yard with yellow and pink dandelions and violets, a lot easier than planting roses and irises..... Smiling
