Happy to say these have had another successful summer vacation outside and again multiplied to more than I have space to keep inside for winter.

Thumb of 2014-10-03/purpleinopp/71d9e5

Some of the Sans (snake plant) leaves are too tall to fit in box w/o trimming. I will include the trimmed tips so you can play with propagating them.

I have added other pics of these, if the pics in this discussion don't help you recognize these plants:
Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata)
Basket Plant (Callisia fragrans)

The vine is in a 5-gal bucket, but also growing more mass than I need to bring inside.
Thumb of 2014-10-03/purpleinopp/f3470a
Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium)

Sending in medium flat rate USPS box, $13. PM me if interested.

Nlb59: It looks like the one Tiffany is offering is not the Velvet Leaf but this one: Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium)

I used to grow the Velvet Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum) but haven't seen it available at garden centers in awhile.

Agree it's confusing because although there's an entry for 'Brazil,' there's no separate entry for 'Micans' cultivar, so pics of 2 diff plants of mine are on this entry:
Velvet Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum)

And most of the other pics of one of the plants are in this entry. I uploaded all of the pics to one entry but some of the pics were moved. (Kudos to anyone trying to sort these out, BTW! Last time I thought I'd look into it, I just got more confused.)
Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium)

Both entries have pics of diff 'versions' of P. hederaceum and I don't understand the separation of the 2 entries. I chose what I think is the less specific name (just 2 words, without the more specific 'var. oxycardium' at the end.) Since it didn't come with a tag, and I don't understand what the difference is supposed to be, I'm not comfortable assigning the finer distinction. But regardless of the name, it's a fantastically fast, fun plant to have around. Discussing where pics might best live is a fun thing to have available to do on an unpleasant weather morning. I'm always eager to learn more!

NLB, to answer your question about which plant I was offering, it's the non-Micans one, regular, ubiquitous heart-leaf vine with smooth, shiny leaves. It's the one I've seen in personal collections over the past couple decades on the internet, and places like malls and restaurants for my whole life, and owned the newest batch that I currently have for over 2 decades. Unlike the relatively newer 'Micans' and 'Brazil' cultivars that may have been around for a while but have become widespread much more recently.

But, to also answer your question... at this point, there's no window of opportunity in the forecast that would be good for sending a plant in a box. Too cold. If you happen to live somewhere that's usually pretty mild for winter, a window of opportunity between south AL and wherever you are could open. If not, and you are still in need in the spring, please contact me then and I'll be happy to fill whatever size box you'd like to pay the shipping for.

I apologize for forgetting to mark this closed when it became too cold to continue sharing. I'll do it now. Thanks for your interest!

Tiffany, micans is a synonym for hederaceum so there would be no separate database entry for micans.

It could be my eyes but the plant in your photo here looks more like P. hederaceum var. oxycardium. than the Velvet Leaf Philo (P. hederaceum) whose leaves are a bit different in shape and are very soft/pubescent with a definite velvety look and feel.

TY for the help, Lin. I still don't understand it because I've never seen this other vine, unless you're saying micans IS the other vine? Micans leaves are reddish/burgundy on the back, a noticeably different plant from that pic of mine you included above, regular, smooth, heart-leaf vine (with leaves that are green on the back.) I have 3, including these two and 'Brazil.'

So, reading through this article again...
http://www.exoticrainforest.co...
Micans is apparently a sport, definitely not a cultivar if it's been around longer than the hybridization of tropicals for commercial use, regardless of the fact that I've only seen it recently, in BBS's via EA.

Micans just now:

Thumb of 2014-11-13/purpleinopp/cedd22

All other pics of heart-leaf vine besides 'Brazil' that I've uploaded are of the exact same (non 'Micans' and non 'Brazil') plant, that I've had for so long. So, are you saying the micans pics should be in this entry?:
Velvet Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum)

And the other, non-Brazil plant goes here?:
Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium)

It sure can get confusing with names, can't it?

Yes, those three photos in your last post above appear to be the Velvet Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum) with the soft dark greenish/bronze leaves that are purplish on the reverse side. By the way, micans is not a cultivar but rather a synonym name for this particular Philo.

The common heart-leaf Philo with the brighter green leaves is Heart Leaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium) and for years I knew this one as Philodendron scandens, which is apparently a synonym.

OK, TY so VM! I've moved the remaining pics in question. This is a good day, that's been bugging me!

@plantomaniac08 You'll be happy to see this! You were on it all along. TY again as well!

You did what you could, I can be stubborn, and maintain a healthy confusion about Philos. (Is that a thing, yes, I think it is.)

FWIW for whoever might read this at this point, I kept enough Sans to have some extra available in the spring too. Realized those would be easier to send some of the pups while smaller, so the leaves don't have to be trimmed so much to fit in a box.

Tiff,
I didn't think anything of it. I don't know everything and there are times I really think I know something and I'm wrong. Smiling
