Nothing wrong with either style, and fascinating to talk about, and the ways of dealing with and overcoming both!
I did have a lot of problems with plants getting too dry last winter. I might go back to using some drip trays and make more of an effort to catch rain water while plants are inside... so I don't have to take every pot to the shower every time it's dry. I have the time, but not so much the urge - and good golly Miss Molly, I'm clumsy. I drop at least 1 plant per month every winter carrying them around like kittens. Also think a different kind of spray bottle would allow me to water more slowly in place without so much dripping. A little purple one from the dollar store takes too many squeezes on the trigger to be used as a watering device.
(Another thing I liked about that wire container last winter - I never moved it once, just spritzed all around the top and sides every few days, rotated occasionally.)
