I believe so Tee. I see Petroselinum crispum needs some attention since Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum (Italian Parsley or Italian Flat Leaf Parsley) is a nom. inval., invalidly published, name (see GRIN). I'd say both the Common Name field and Also sold as field can be used to differentiate Italian Parsley from the others.

I'll have to get to this later since there are quite a few cultivars involved.

I've merged these 2 entries, quite a bit of data and name changing/adding was necessary.

I plan to revise the latin name from Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum to Petroselinum crispum for the other entries in our database. Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum will appear in the Also sold as field and Italian Parsley will be added as a Common Name where necessary.

While a search will allow you to find all Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum Italian Parsley plants in the database, browsing will not. To get them to show up while browsing, Italian Parsley will need to have the most thumbs up!

Parsley Petroselinum crispum
Given the lack of agreement within the the various taxonomic databases at this time, I believe GRIN is best to use for this food crop.

In order to make it easier to locate Parsleys in our database, I propose creating a Custom database for them. This would include Parsleys (Petroselinum crispum) as the Parent plant, Curly Parsley (Petroselinum crispum var. crispum) , Hamburg Parsley (Petroselinum crispum var. tuberosum) and the Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum varieties, as previously discussed.

Dave, Please make Parsleys (Petroselinum crispum) a Parent Plant and name Parsleys.
