with the name of this common little trailing plant? Geesh, it's driving me crazy. The label has gone missing and for the life of me I'm drawing a blank as to the name. I kept thinking Yellow Alder (Turnera ulmifolia) but this one is a low growing, trailing ground cover. I know I'm going to do one of those head-smacks when I hear the name. Smiling

When googling I found this one called (Turnera ulmifolia Trailing Yellow) which looks an awful lot like my plant in question: http://www.northforkgreenhouse... but I'm still Confused because last year someone ID'd the plant in my database photo's as Yellow Alder (Turnera ulmifolia) but that plant was a lot taller growing. The one I'm trying to ID appears to be a trailing ground cover, yellow flowers with a brown central ray.

I'm really not good at going back and forth trying to compare photo's but upon further googling I think my plant in question looks a lot like Turnera subulata. Fourth photo from the left here: http://www.dreamstime.com/roya...

I sure wish my memory was younger Green Grin! I know the original plant label did not say Turnera but the original label could very well have been incorrect.

Maybe it's a yellow Turnera subulata?

Greene, that's the closest I've come so far in my search. I think the original plant label began with the letter P but it may have very well been labeled incorrectly!

Sure looks like some of the photo's I've found when googling:

P?
Well, procumbens would mean a plant that is low down, trailing or on the ground, so maybe??

I sure wish my memory would kick in with the original name that was on the label. I was so sure the plant tag had the genus name beginning with the letter P but with my memory ... who knows, LOL.

I've identified this as Turnera subulata.

edited to add: When I removed it from it's pot there was a plastic label laying at the very bottom of the pot which reads as follows:

Turnera subulata Yellow

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
