I can't help much here, because I actually LIKE pink pots. I plant purple flowers in them, or blue or white, or all of the above. I have actually bought pink spray paint to make my own pink pots. Yes, my name is Woofie, and I am a pink-a-holic. (But only in the garden!)

texaskitty111 said:I thought I would jump in here and tell all of you I bought 10 white planters, and they completely cracked apart from the sun within a year. Terra cotta colored plastic pots never do that. Green, lasts 2 years. I'm thinking the lighter colors are made from another product, who knows? They cost the same.

I don't think it's the light color, just the particular pots... I've had light-colored ones that lasted and lasted, and then a few years ago bought some big square pots, had them out for the one summer and when I went to move them in the fall they completely broke apart. They weren't particularly cheap pots, either -- really ticked me off! In contrast, I have white self-watering flower boxes from Gardener's Supply that I've hung on the south side of my house (on the deck railing) where the sun is as brutal that it gets up here, and they have lasted at least 8 years.

I agree, it's just the pots. Even the el cheapo Walmart self-watering plastic pots have lasted me years and even the largest size wasn't $5.00.

Since most of my pots are from road side pickups I find that the majority of casual gardeners use a pot for one season and discard it (sometimes along with the plant) in the autumn. The pots may be a bit faded and are no longer 'decorative' but find they are usable for at least 2 - 3 more years in my yard.

We were at Lowe's the other day and my wife spotted a shelf out in a remote corner of the garden section with these huge planters and a sale sign for $2.50. They were an off white beige color. I said get every one they have for that price. They had 2 left on the shelf.

I'm thrilled with these 2 planters in my buggy.

Well we got to the cash register and they rang up for $32.99 each. After a bit of disappointed complaining they showed me that the ones on sale were a different color (fuchsia Thumbs down ) and they were all gone.

Well I guess someone liked the pink planters. Not sure I would have liked them even for $2.50...

Welcome to ATP Glenn. Love the lizard. Thanks Greene. It is spring here and, with the warmth, the Bearded Dragons (very large agamids) are up and about in the garden.

Wow Cat. Wonderful. Lovey dubby

The big one next door, which I can watch from my shower recess, is 2.5 feet, Sandy. This is the male that actually lives in my garden, who is smaller. He hasn't shown up this spring yet. Sad
