This showed up in the pot of my indoor plant. I occasionally put seeds from fruit I ate, but did not keep track. It is about a year old.

It looks like Citrus. Reminds me of my Key Lime I grew from seed. If I remember correctly, Limes, Lemons, Grapefruit and Oranges have thorns on their stems.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

I agree that it is some type of citrus; what kind(s) have you been eating?

Hurray! What a cool surprise! It definitely looks like a Citrus seedling and as Anne stated, many citrus trees do have thorns!

On the island, I have to hit the seedlings with a systemic or they don't get far because of galls.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
