I have never grown Adeniums but after seeing them here, I definitely want to give them a try. Could someone please explain why they are grafted and is a grafted plant a "better" plant to get than non-grafted.

How easy are they to grow from seeds. Been looking on ebay just to get an idea but I really don't need a ton of seeds that they are offering....

The many reason most are buying Grafted forms of Adeniums is because they do not come true to seed and they want a particular bloom that is available to purchase.
The good hybridizers of these plants grow hundreds, thousands or more seed to produce a small number of special blooms.

You can buy seed grown Adeniums with very beautiful blooms. A lot is an individual preference as to what they like, i.e. plant (caudex) shape, bloom, leaves.
Many on this site have found some very nice plants at Lowes, HD, Walmart.

Best to buy a plant in bloom or a grafted plant if you desire a bloom of choice.
The seeds are not difficult to grow, but depending on what conditions and growing season. They can bloom as early as 6-7 months to a couple years.
On ebay. Try adenium_Ko or Orient Adeniums.

One thing needs to be considered and that is rate and strength of growth.OK that's two things.Grafted plants do not grow as well or as fast as seed grown plants.I have both kinds and prefer the seed grown plants.Plant a hundred fresh seed,grow them to bloom, and select the ones you like best.

TY JT. I grow my plants mainly for their beauty/unusual-ness. I really don't care if they have a "name"....orphans as I call them. Come spring I might try to grow some seeds....winter sucks in PA!
