I found it on the site Lin gave me.

AECHMEA fasciata so it is a AECHMEA. I have to read up and find out what each of these variaties mean.

I started to wait and see if they dropped the price to 1.00. It usually only take them a day or two before they go lower but it was a pretty color and looked healthy so I sprung for the 5.00. I am so cheap and they spoiled me with the 1.00 plants. Rolling on the floor laughing

Hilarious! That is funny Cinta...I'm cheap too, and yes those discount racks have spoiled me even more. I make a bee-line for those racks every time I go to Lowe's. The other day, I picked up an orchid, listed for $5.00...When I got to the register, I said, "Hmmm, looks like a $1.00 plant to me!" The cashier laughed and said, "Yes, it does.", and rang it for $1.00. Thumbs up

They have stacks of orchids, some with a few flowers still left on them for 1.00. I went crazy last year and I have only been able to keep one alive out of the 5 I purchased. I kill orchids so I give up. But the pots were so pretty I at least do not feel bad that they died I have some nice pots.

I take cuttings of my more colorful succulents and put them in the pretty little pots and take them to the retirements homes. The ladies love them. They talk about when they had houseplants when they had a home. It is sad.

Cinta, what a wonderful thing to do! Visiting the homes can be a very depressing, but, on the other hand, a very rewarding thing to do. Good for you! Thumbs up
