Is this category supposed to be for garden landscapes only or landscapes in general?

I'm thinking mostly garden landscapes.

Some people think of landscape as landscape scenery, like a mountain scene but if you remember that this is All Things Plants, keep that as the theme in mind for landscapes. Is the basic theme of the photo a landscape, either your own or something created by someone else?

In my Icelandic mind landscape is nature with moutains, valleys, rivers, boulders, lakes, grass and plants etc. We talk about garden architecture and garden layout. But ATP has tought me what garden landscape and landscaping is . thank you Sue.

And I know first hand the reason you are so inspired @magga, Iceland has the most scenic beauty of anything I have ever personally seen, I have many photos of my 2009 trip and they just can't convey the stunning scenery I saw in person!

Can the landscapes and gardens be a group of containers?

Oh dear. Well, I submitted photos I took of Hopeland Gardens that I visited here in town. They're very mature landscape plantings that have been in place for about 100 years or more. They show the value of pre-planning for the mature size of plants so that when they grow in everything works together. One is of Koi ponds and the other is the entrance to the gardens. Someone planned the landscaping----it just wasn't me! Should I delete them?

Okay, well, after reading your statement again, I see it was somewhat ambiguous as to whether or not you were allowing "something created by someone else." I thought at first you were making a remark about "not" submitting something created by another. I'll leave them in place unless notified otherwise.

Just a suggestion, but, perhaps next year you could break it down to a "best in category" even though they may not win the grand prize. We could still recognize those in each category.

There will be a "best in each category" award for sure. They will each get a blue ribbon microbadge.

Hi Dave! I was worried for nothing! The judging of the photos is going very quickly. Funny, but, one of the toughest so far is the "bugs" category. So many good ones!

It's very hard to narrow down, I agree, so many good one to chose from! I too found the bug one especially hard, had to enlarge my selections several times and then go with my gut instinct.

Uh-oh... I'm unable to get a red check mark by one of my last three in the Iris Category. Two of them are fine, but, the third won't take the check mark.

Need help! I haven't closed out the category yet. Can anyone take a peek at my final selections???? Do you need a URL or something?
